Welcome, Great Plains IDEA Students!

Program/Courses Leading to Teacher Licensure in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS)
Distance Education Students
:
Colorado State University participates in the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (Great Plains IDEA) which provides a clearing house of courses that may contribute to coursework for FCS teacher licensure. (Note: Teacher licensure/certification requirements vary by state, so the first step toward licensure/certification is to contact an FCS teacher training institution in the state where you want to teach.) To take a CSU course that may fulfill requirements from another state, follow the instructions at the following website: http://www.gpidea.org/prospective/TeacherCertification.html or search the Great Plains IDEA course catalog : http://search.gpidea.org/cgi-bin/dropdownSearch.cgi. Courses taken from other institutions through Great Plains IDEA are considered transfer courses and should be preapproved by a CSU advisor.
